I hope to make ‘Book Deals of the Week’ a new series on this blog. I’ll try to post one of these a week, highlighting one or more books that are on free or reduced price promotion.
So far this week, I’ve found a few free books by authors I know. I got all of these books.
Artificial Absolutes by Mary Fan, the first book in a sci-fi series. About the book: Jane Colt is just another recent college grad working as an Interstellar Confederation office drone—until the day she witnesses her best friend, Adam, kidnapped by a mysterious criminal. An extensive cover-up thwarts her efforts to report the crime, shaking her trust in the authorities. Only her older brother, Devin, believes her account. Devin hopes to leave behind his violent past and find peace in a marriage to the woman he loves. That hope shatters when he discovers a shocking secret that causes him to be framed for murder. With little more than a cocky attitude, Jane leaves everything she knows to flee with Devin, racing through the most lawless corners of the galaxy as she searches for Adam and proof of her brother’s innocence. Her journey uncovers truths about both of them, leading her to wonder just how much she doesn’t know about the people she loves.http://www.amazon.com/Artificial-Absolutes-Jane-Colt-Book-ebook/dp/B00BJBW5B6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1440504689&sr=8-2&keywords=mary+fan
The Ark of Humanity by Scott Toney, a standalone novel. About the book: God flooded the earth to annihilate humanity’s sins. What if that sinful race didn’t die when floodwaters covered them but instead adapted to breathe water? Now he must save his people from another empire of water dwellers bent on enslaving the oceans and torturing his peaceful realm. Yet another question is posed as he learns that his people are descended from humans that lived on the land above the ocean; a people that were destroyed by floods made by the rage of God. If they have to, in order to escape, will they be able to breathe air and join whatever is left of the world above the waters? What would they find there?
