We recently took a cross-country road trip which included driving through Utah and Nevada. Along the way we passed the Great Salt Lake and the Bonneville Salt Flats. I’d never seen either of them before and I was amazed at the stark beauty. We didn’t have time to stop on our way out to California, but we did stop on our way back and took photos.
The whole area was desolate, vast, and otherworldly. I could easily have come up with some good story ideas if I’d stayed there for very long. I was also surprised at the similarity to some of the landscape in Yellowstone National Park. I’ve included three of my Yellowstone photos from a few years ago here. Take a look and see what you think.
The Great Salt Lake and the Bonneville Salt Flats were amazing and I would love to go back there sometime and see more.
